Summer 2023 Construction during the North Dakota State Fair
Minot, N.D. – The City of Minot will host the North Dakota State Fair (NDSF) from July 21st to July 29th. With the expected increase in visitors to the city, we would like to remind everyone of the ongoing construction in the northeast Minot area.
Phase MI-5 construction continues on Railway Avenue, with utilities relocated in preparation for flood protection features. Railway Avenue will remain closed to through traffic from 4th Street NE to 27th Street NE for the 2023 construction season. Traffic on Railway Avenue will continue to detour south to Burdick Expressway, while local traffic will utilize 6th Avenue NE to access residential neighborhoods north of Railway Avenue.
Although 4th Avenue NE is open to vehicular traffic from the west at the 7th NE Street bridge to Lowe's Garden Center on the east, active construction in this area continues. Additionally, the shared-use walking paths between Minot Roosevelt Park and Lowe's Garden Center still need to be completed, and this area is still considered a live construction site that is closed to pedestrian traffic. Please be aware of the pedestrian closures in this area.
Ensuring the safety of all visitors during the NDSF is our priority. It is advised to those walking or parking in these areas to exercise caution. Your cooperation is appreciated, and we look forward to a successful NDSF.
