SRJB Host ND Water Officials to tour projects related to the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Projects
The Souris River Joint Board is always excited to host groups in the area in an effort to educate & share progress made on the MREFPP.
We were lucky enough to host the Water Topics Overview Committee, the Department Water Resources, and other officials last week. The Water Topics Overview Committee in North Dakota is responsible for legislatively overseeing water-related topics and related matters. They also engage in necessary discussions with adjacent states regarding water-related issues. And the DWR purpose is fostering and promoting water resources development throughout the state. It has the authority to investigate, plan, construct, and develop water-related projects, and serves as a mechanism to financially support those efforts throughout North Dakota.
We took this opportunity to tour projects in our area and share our story, show these projects and their complexity, how we are attacking the current climate for construction costs, and thank them for their partnership in helping protect the Souris River Basin and its residents.
