A Look at the recently opened Railway Avenue
As a part of the MREFPP Phase MI-5 Northeast Levee Tieback, Railway Avenue in northeast Minot was closed for almost 3 years. This is a main thoroughfare through Minot for residents coming from the east side of town, and the detour was necessary for the project but we know people felt the impact of having one of those main arteries in the city closed temporarily.
This was a complicated project involving multiple railway lines, overhead foot bridges, lots of utlity relocations, flood wall with stop blocks, earthen levee, a pump station and tying into MREFPP Phases MI-6 & MI-7.
We appreciate all of the partnerships that went into completing this phase early which allowed Railway Avenue to open ahead of schedule. You definitely want to take a drive if you haven't seen the complete roadway, it look great and drives pretty great, too.
It completes the full floodwall with lights when you travel from south to north on 3rd Street Bridge. It looks pretty fabulous!
