Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) MI-2/3 Napa Valley/Forest Road Phases Resume
Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) MI-2/3 Napa Valley/Forest Road Phases Resume Work
Minot, N.D. – Work along Phases MI-2 Napa Valley and MI-3 Forest Road of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) is scheduled to resume within the next few weeks, weather permitting.
As the project moves toward completion, there are several elements left to construct including the installation of the relocated NAWS 36” water transmission main, removal of existing utilities in the area, completion of levee construction, rehabilitation of 16th Street and 7th Avenue, completion of the closure structure, Wee Links parking lot, and final restoration and site finishes. In order to complete this work, we are expecting one final partial closure of 16th Street (channeled to two lanes) in May, for approximately 4-8 weeks.
Recreation facilities in the construction area are currently closed including the new Dakota Bark Park (temporary location is open), Souris Valley Walking Path, and Wee Links Golf Course. Updates will be available once these facilities have reopened, which is scheduled for Summer 2020.
Work is expected to be substantially complete September 2020.
Safety is always a priority so please be vigilant near the construction zone.
