Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) Construction Begins on Phase MI-2B
Minot, N.D. – Construction started this week on Phase MI-2B of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP). This is one of the first phases to be constructed as a part of the multi-million dollar flood risk reduction project being developed throughout the Mouse River Basin.
This phase of the project will create temporary greens and tees on three holes at the Souris Valley Golf Course. The new features will provide the golf course with continued playability of all 18 holes throughout the duration of the Napa Valley phase of the project, which will directly impact the golf course starting in 2017. Construction of the Napa Valley phase is expected to be completed in 2019 or 2020.
The Souris Valley Golf Course will remain open throughout the duration of the construction of the temporary features and construction is not anticipated to disrupt play. Construction is expected to be substantially completed by August 31, 2016, making the temporary greens and tees ready for play in the 2017 season.
